Getting started
Overview
Telem is a web search and page-fetch API for AI agents. One call searches several providers and returns one result format; another reads whole pages as clean text.
Your agent sends Telem one search. Telem runs it on several search providers at the same time and returns every result in the same format, with the name of the provider that found it. When a result is worth reading, Telem fetches the page and returns its text.
Get started
Section titled “Get started”Telem works inside your coding agent, in your own code, or over plain HTTP. Every path needs an API key from the Telem console. The Quickstart takes you from a key to your first search and page read, on the path you choose.
What you can do
Section titled “What you can do”One query runs on providers such as Exa, Brave and Tavily together. You parse one result format, whichever provider answered.
Send up to 5 URLs in one call. Each page comes back as Markdown or plain text. One failed URL does not fail the others.
Turn on auto-routing and Telem picks the providers that rank best for the kind of question, such as news or academic papers.
Set published_after and published_before to keep only results from a time range.
A monitor runs a search on a schedule, from every hour to every week, and keeps only the new results. Poll it or receive a webhook.
The agent integrations send each search with its place in the conversation, so the console shows them as one history.
Use Telem everywhere
Section titled “Use Telem everywhere”Every integration calls the same Telem API, and one API key works in all of
them. Most agent plugins also share one options file, .telem/telem.json. The
SDKs take their options in code.
